The Temper Trap - 'Conditions'

This is the second full-scale release from Aussie band The Temper Trap. Going since 2006, They have laid dormant for 3 years creating this brilliant piece of work. It's already caused quite a stir over on their side of things, coming out in June and getting in the top 10. Will it prove as popular with us Brits?

The first thing that gets you is the guys voice. Some parts are so incredibly high, and its mostly in his 'girl range', as I like to call it, but it fits with the music perfectly. This is non-offensive Alt.Rock at its best, and you're sure to like some of the beautiful vocal work pairing itself with catchy riffs and drums.

So I've made it to track 7, and so far there are some absolute gems. Many of you might have heard Sweet Disposition, which was actually released back in 2008, with its epic chorus and lyrics. Rest has some amazing vocal work on it, with massive sustained notes during the chorus. Fader is another favourite of mine, as the chorus just makes you want to get up and sing along with some classic 'oohs'; some things never change, ey? The only thing that lets it down is the really average guitar solo halfway through.

Towards the end we move away from what is clearly 'singles' territory, but still have some really cool tracks like Fools which slow things down a bit. They are over here very soon promoting it, and their gig at the Royal Albert Hall should be pretty spectacular.
