Freshers Tour 2009

Kingsize
Message from the band

I'm incredibly excited about the Jack Wills Freshers Tour, being on the road is where bands come to life. I can't say there is one date in particular I'm looking forward to - Nottingham is a city we have played many times before and know intimately, as is Leeds and Edinburgh, so in a way its like coming home three nights in a row. God help us. St Andrews presents a new possibility for Kingsize, we always go that little bit further on stage in a new town...

Then come the final legs, culminating in a show on the King's Road - I'm already on cloud 9 with the thought of playing the first chord back on London's Terra Firma. I think this tour has the potential to be a spectacular show from all the Bands, mixed with the comradery of large groups of musicians traveling together, anything could happen. Bring on October!

Love Mike Kingsize XX

Max on vocals, Alex on Vocals/Keys, James on Guitar, Jack on Drums and George on Bass.
Kingsize

'A group of 4 fundamentally different young men, bound together by bourbon, rock 'n' roll, London, melody, Elvis, Britpop, late nights, early mornings and epic hangovers. Kingsize is, essentially, a gang. A rock band with a pop sensibility, whose debut album Love, Lust and Other Disasters recalls that genre's finest exponents, the Kinks, the Clash, the Cure, the Who, to name but a few.

Since the successul release of their first album in Autumn 2008 in UK, GAS and Japan, the band have toured the continent extensively, and after a recent hiatus in Berlin, during which fresh material was recorded, Kingsize are ready to deliver a more refined, mature sound that blends thoughtful, introspective lyricism with instinctive, accomplished rock 'n' roll musicianship.

Over the last few years Kingsize have toured and supported some big names in the industry from Ash, The Pigeon Detectives, Florence and the Machine, White Lies, Blood Red Shoes and Little Man Tate to name but a few.
